Discussion...
issued at 337 am CDT Monday Sep 23 2019

Looks like the start of the work week, and fall in general, will be
a nice one, but there is more rain in the forecast for later in the
week.

Early morning satellite imagery and surface observations are showing
the cold front, that brought this past weekends wet weather, having
swept into southeast Missouri, with much of the cloud cover going
with it. This has left a surface high with clear skies to dominate
our section of eastern Kansas and northern Missouri, which in turn
is now allowing for the development of dense fog across parts of
Kansas and northern Missouri. Have issued a dense fog advisory
through 9 am as a result.

As for the rest of the day, and the coming work week, it will be a
nice one, with highs around to a little above normal for the first
day of fall as the cool surface high behind the front shifts across
the region. Temperatures Tuesday will swing up a little, as the
general prevailing pattern remains rather flat and a shortwave ridge
moves across the middle of the country. However, the pattern wont
stay flat for long as another strong jet off the northern Pacific
will plow across the Canadian border. This will force another
frontal boundary south across the Central Plains Tuesday night into
Wednesday, bringing our next chance for rain; and again Thursday
night into at least Friday with more rain possible.

Aviation...(for the 06z tafs through 06z Monday night)
issued at 1019 PM CDT sun Sep 22 2019

Main issue tonight is fog, expect MVFR vis at terminals with IFR
possible aft 08-09z. Exception is kmkc where vis should be better.
Otherwise expect fog to burn off fairly quickly by 14z with VFR
conditions and light winds during the daytime hours.
