Short term...(today through sunday)

Northwest winds aloft will gradually increase over the next 48
hours. Conditions will remain dry with daytime temperatures
steadily rising again to 5 to 10 degrees above normal Sunday. A
shortwave trough will strengthen as it passes through Montana and
Wyoming Sunday causing winds to increase further. Critical fire
weather conditions are expected Sunday afternoon and evening as
winds reach red flag warning criteria. See the fire weather

Long term...(sunday night through friday)

Following the trough passage into the High Plains the gradient
over the forecast area decreases Monday and high pressure builds
north over the Great Basin and Four Corners.

Wednesday afternoon moisture will begin riding north from Arizona
into Utah and western Colorado. It's a weak pulse of moisture but enough
to kick off isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms each
afternoon and evening through Friday. Temperatures will remain
above normal through the week.

Dry weather is expected for the next 24 hours with winds becoming
a bit breezy during the afternoon. VFR conditions will prevail
with no chance for ceilings below ils breakpoints.


Fire weather...

On Sunday, northwest winds aloft will to mix down to the surface
leading to strong winds at the ground over a more widespread area
of northeast Utah and northwest Colorado. These winds, combined
with the continued dry conditions, will cause critical fire
weather conditions again in the afternoon and early evening.
