Discussion...
as has been the case for the last several days, the first half of
this week looks warm/hot and mainly rain-free. Two systems still
look more or less on track to bring rain/storms to the region the
latter half of this week into early next week.

The first system is the disturbance over the western Gulf of
Mexico. It is still forecast to move slowly across Texas over the
next several days, and up into Oklahoma late this week.

The second system is an upper-level wave that is expected to move
into the High Plains region around mid- to late-week. This will
drive a surface cold front into the Kansas/Oklahoma area, and the
combination of low-level convergence near the front and upper-
level support should generate showers/thunderstorms while it is in
the vicinity. The lingering front and probable convective outflow
boundaries, combined with the added moisture from the first
system, will likely help maintain a solid chance of rain into next
week.
