northwesterly flow and building high pressure will make for a cold
start to the weekend. High pressure begins to exit the region Sunday,
allowing warmth to infiltrate the area. Rain chances return Monday.
Near term /through today/...
no changes to the overnight period.
Cold air aloft, and northwest flow, will provide a stratocumulus
deck across a portion of the eastern half of the area this morning.
Low clouds will dissipate as the main cold pool aloft drifts
northeast. Expect sunshine to return to the entire area during the
afternoon. Temperatures today will still remain quite chilly.
Short term /tonight through Monday/...
high pressure, and warm advection aloft, will provide clear skies
tonight, however temperatures near the surface will remain cold.
Continued warm advection will allow for a quick recovery to above
normal temperature on Sunday. Clouds will increase from the southwest
during the late morning and afternoon hours.
Rain chances increase Sunday night with the passage of a warm front
and strong moisture advection from the southwest. Widespread rain on
Monday, as the area will lie on the eastern side of deepening low

rain will continue Monday night with the passage of a cold front.
Much colder air will move in behind the front on Tuesday and remain
in place through most of the week.

VFR will prevail through the period as sfc high pressure builds
across the area today, though broad upper troughing will maintain
stratocu at least through morning. Patchy MVFR cigs will be possible at duj and perhaps fkl early this
morning though confidence in this is low. A clearing trend is
expected into this afternoon as high pressure becomes centered over
restrictions are expected Sun night thru Wed with crossing low
pressure and subsequent upper troughing.
