The National Weather Service in Tucson has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from 10 am to 6 PM MST Saturday. A
Fire Weather Watch has also been issued. This Fire Weather Watch
is in effect from Sunday morning through Sunday afternoon.
* Affected area... fire weather zone 152 for areas near and south of
Interstate 10 on Saturday and mainly southeast part of Cochise
* Timing... the warning is from 10 am to 6 PM Saturday when the winds
will exceed critical levels. The watch is in effect for Sunday
* winds... southwest winds will quickly increase during the late
morning hours Saturday peaking around 20 to 30 mph with gusts to
45 mph. The winds will continue through the afternoon and quickly
ease around or shortly after sunset. For sunday's watch area,
southwest winds of 20 to 30 mph with gusts to 45 mph are again
expected in the afternoon.
* Relative humidity... minimum humidity levels will reach the 12 to 20
percent range on Saturday and 6 to 12 percent range Sunday.
* Impacts... any fires that develop or are ongoing will have the
potential to spread rapidly, especially in areas with a heavy dead
grass fuel bed.

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... or are expected to develop. A
combination of strong winds... low relative humidity... and dry
vegetation will create the potential for rapid and erratic fire
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions
are forecast to occur. Listen for later forecasts and possible
red flag warnings.
