the Gunnison river above Grand Junction
* until Monday evening.
* At 08 am Friday the stage was 11.4 feet.
* Bankfull stage is 8.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 13.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will slowly fall to near 11.0 feet late
Friday and stabilize. The river will slowly fall again on
Monday.

* Flood stage is 12.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will fall to near 9.5 on Friday and stabilize.
The river will start to slowly fall again late Sunday into Monday.

... Red flag warning remains in effect from noon today to 7 PM MDT
this evening for wind and low relative humidity for fire weather
zones 203... 290 and 292 in western Colorado...

* affected area... in Colorado, fire weather zone 203 lower
Colorado River, fire weather zone 290 Paradox Valley forecast
area and fire weather zone 292 North Fork forecast area.

* Winds... southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.

* Relative humidity... 11 to 16 percent.

* Impacts... fire starts or existing fires may become difficult
to control.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
