for northwestern Franklin... southwestern Douglas and east central
Osage counties...

At 300 PM CST, a severe thunderstorm was located near Pomona Lake,
moving northeast at 35 mph.

Hazard... 60 mph wind gusts and nickel size hail.

Source... radar indicated. At 2:55pm, dime size hail was reported
         with this storm.

Impact... expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

... Wind Advisory remains in effect from 4 PM this afternoon to
midnight CST tonight...

* timing... strong northwesterly winds will rapidly increase late
this afternoon and persist into the overnight hours.

* Winds... sustained winds of 30 to 35 mph with gusts of 45 to 50
mph likely at times. Higher gusts may be possible in any
thunderstorms that develop during the afternoon.

* Impacts... these strong winds will lead to difficult driving
conditions, especially for high profile vehicles. Small objects
may be blown around or damaged by the wind. Some blowing snow
could occur along the Interstate 335 corridor this evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds from 30 to 39 mph
and/or gusts from 45 to 57 mph are likely. Steps should be taken
to secure any lawn furniture or light weight objects and use
extra caution when driving.
