southeastern Montgomery County in east central Kentucky...
southeastern Bath County in east central Kentucky...
northwestern Morgan County in southeastern Kentucky...
Menifee County in east central Kentucky...
southeastern Rowan County in east central Kentucky...

* until 800 PM EDT.

* At 506 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms containing
very heavy rain moving into the area. Excessive runoff will cause
minor flooding of creeks and streams, roads, and roadside
culverts.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
West Liberty, Stanton, Frenchburg, Henry, Jeffersonville, Clay
City, Wellington, campsites in the Indian Creek area of the Daniel
Boone National Forrest, Zag, Clay lick, Fannin valley and Bowen.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

... Flash Flood Watch in effect until midnight EDT tonight...

The National Weather Service in Jackson has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of east central Kentucky and
southeast Kentucky, including the following counties, in east
central Kentucky, Bath, Elliott, Fleming, Menifee, Montgomery,
and Rowan. In southeast Kentucky, Morgan.

* Until midnight EDT tonight.

* Thunderstorms containing very heavy rainfall will bring the
potential for flash flooding to the area through this evening.

* Flash flooding of small streams and creeks will be possible,
especially in low lying and poor drainage areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

At 600 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over Redbush, or 8
miles southwest of Blaine, moving east at 45 mph.

Wind gusts up to 50 mph and half inch hail are possible with this
storm.

Locations impacted include...
Paintsville, Prestonsburg, Inez, moon, Oaklawn estates, Davella,
Falcon, Whitehouse, Wonnie, Collista, West Van Lear, Williamsport,
Milo, gillem branch, Redbush, relief, ever, Auxier, perlie and Niles.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm, and may cause
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
