* until 800 am CST Thursday

* at 1103 PM CST, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause
flooding. Doppler radar estimates 1 to 3 inches of rain has fallen
in the past 24 hours. An additional 1 to 3 inches is expected in
the next 9 hours over ground that is already saturated from
recent rainfall.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Southaven, Olive Branch, Horn Lake, Clarksdale, Hernando,
Senatobia, Batesville, Marianna, Charleston, Marvell, Elaine, West
Helena, John W Kyle State Park, Helena, St Francis National Park,
White River National Wildlife Refuge, Tutwiler, Marks, Sardis and
Coldwater.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

A Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring. All
interested parties should take necessary precautions immediately.

The National Weather Service in Memphis TN has issued a

* Flood Warning for
the little Tallahatchie canal at little Tallahatchie river at Etta
near New Albany
* from Thursday February 22 until Friday February 23.
* At 09 PM Wednesday the stage was... 14.2 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Maximum forecast stage of 26.0 feet on Friday February 23.
* Flood stage is 25.0 feet.
* Forecast to rise above flood stage by Thursday February 22 and
continue to rise to near 26.0 feet by Friday February 23. The river
will fall below flood stage by Friday February 23.
At 26.0 feet, County Highway 47 near Mud Creek and Mill Creek has 6
to 12 inches of water over it. Several thousand acres of crop land
are flooded..
