The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a High
Wind Warning, which is in effect from 6 am Wednesday to midnight
MDT Wednesday night. The high wind watch is no longer in effect.
* Winds: west 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph.
* Timing: developing Wednesday morning and continuing into the
* Impacts: strong winds could become damaging, potentially blowing
down trees and power lines. Power outages may also be possible.
Travel could become difficult, especially for high profile
vehicles traveling on north to south orientated roads.
A High Wind Warning means a hazardous high wind event is expected
or occurring. Sustained wind speeds of at least 40 mph, or gusts
of 58 mph or more, can lead to property damage.
