Alleghany NC... Ashe and Watauga. In southwest Virginia...
Grayson and Smyth.
* Through Sunday morning
* several locations in the watch area had as much as 3 inches of
rain since Friday morning. An additional 1 to 2 inches of
rainfall... due to strong slow moving thunderstorms... is possible
late this evening and overnight. High rainfall amounts in a
short period of time may produce flash flooding... especially in
areas that received heavy rain Friday and earlier today.
* Heavy rainfall may cause flash flooding of small streams and
creeks... low water crossings... and any flood prone low-lying
areas.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.
