Statement as of 2:34 AM MDT on May 21, 2013

... Flood Watch is cancelled...

The Flood Watch for portions of north central North Dakota...
northwest North Dakota... south central North Dakota... southeast
North Dakota and southwest North Dakota has been cancelled.

Additional rainfall amounts now through Tuesday night are
expected to be less than one quarter of an inch. Further impacts
from the recent heavy rainfall will be minimal. Residents are
still encouraged to monitor basements for ground water seepage.
River and stream rises are also still possible over the next few
days.



Wind Advisory
Statement as of 1:03 AM CDT on May 21, 2013

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until 7 am CDT this morning...

* timing... through early Tuesday morning.

* Winds... north to northeast winds 30 to 40 mph with peak gusts
around 50 mph at times.

* Impacts... strong winds will make working outdoors on elevated
structures or driving high profile vehicles difficult.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Wind Advisory means that sustained winds of 30 to 40 mph... and
or gusts under 58 mph... are expected. Winds this strong can make
driving difficult... especially for high profile vehicles. Use
extra caution.

... Record daily maximum rainfall set at Jamestown ND yesterday...

a record rainfall of 1.23 inches was set at Jamestown ND
yesterday... Monday may 20. This breaks the old record of 0.98 inches
set in 2005.

            3.32 inches received from 10 am may 19 to 8 am may 20.
            In addition... received 0.89 from the afternoon of may 17
            through 10 am on may 19. Turtle Mountain agency fmo.

... Summary of flood products as of Monday evening...

An additional one quarter to three quarters of an inch of
rainfall is possible across central North Dakota tonight through
Tuesday. Lesser amounts of up to one quarter inch are expected in
western North Dakota. Soils continue to saturate across the entire
area and the threat of overland flooding... including County and
township roads in low lying areas and locations of poor drainage
continues.

Flood warnings are in effect for these areas...

In the Souris river basin...

For the Souris river near Towner... minor flooding is forecast by
late Tuesday night or early Wednesday.

For the Souris river near Bantry... minor flooding is occurring.

For the Souris river near Westhope... moderate flooding through
the week.


In the James River basin...

For the Pipestem creek near Pingree... minor flooding is expected
by Tuesday afternoon.
