* flood advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas for...
rain and snowmelt in...
northern Rock County in north central Nebraska...
northern Brown County in north central Nebraska...
Holt County in north central Nebraska...
Keya Paha County in north central Nebraska...
Boyd County in north central Nebraska...

* until 130 PM CDT Tuesday.

* At 1031 am CDT, Nebraska Department of Transportation continues to
report critical disruptions along Nebraska roads including
Nebraska Highway 11 in both directions, Nebraska Highway 12 in
both directions, and US 281 in both directions because of
flooding. Emergency management reported numerous roads continue to
be closed or impassable across portions of central and north
central Nebraska due to flooding. Also, portions of the Elkhorn
river remain above minor flood stage. This includes locations near
Atkinson, O'Neill, and Ewing in Holt County. Additional runoff
today may worsen flooding and cause water to remain on some area
roads or higher river levels on area rivers.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Ainsworth, Bassett, Spencer, Springview, O'Neill, Atkinson,
Stuart, Ewing, Butte, Long Pine, Lynch, Page, Newport, Naper,
Johnstown, gross, Norden, Inman and Bristow.

Additional liquid precipitation of a quarter of an inch is expected
over the area overnight. This additional rain may result in minor
contributions to the flooding.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 183 between mile markers 173 and 225.
Highway 20 between mile markers 226 and 328.
Highway 281 between mile markers 170 and 223.
Highway 12 between mile markers 24 and 135.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Keep children away from storm drains, culverts, creeks and streams.
Water levels can rise rapidly and sweep children away.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.

A flood advisory means river or stream flows are elevated, or ponding
of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.
