Flash Flood Watch, Areal Flood Advisory

... Flash Flood Watch in effect through Saturday evening...

The National Weather Service in Hastings has expanded the

* Flash Flood Watch to include portions of north central Kansas
and Nebraska, including the following areas, in north central
Kansas, Osborne, Phillips, Rooks, and Smith. In Nebraska,
Adams, Buffalo, Franklin, Greeley, Hall, Harlan, Howard,
Kearney, Phelps, Sherman, Valley, and Webster.

* Through Saturday evening

* heavy rainfall associated with slow moving thunderstorms could
result in flash flooding.

* Rainfall totals of 1 to 3 inches could occur.. with locally
higher amounts possible.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* flood advisory for minor flooding in poor drainage areas for...
west central Merrick County in central Nebraska...
southeastern Howard County in central Nebraska...

* until 545 PM CDT Saturday.

* At 550 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported minor flooding
continued in portions of Howard County. This included Highway 92
west of St. Paul and several gravel roads in the area. This is a
result of 1 to 3 inches of rain that fell in this area Thursday
night.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
St. Paul, Palmer, St. Libory and Archer.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
