Flash Flood Watch, Flood Advisory

... Flash Flood Watch in effect from 10 PM CDT this evening
through Monday morning...

The National Weather Service in Omaha/valley has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for portions of Iowa and Nebraska, including
the following areas, in Iowa, Fremont, Harrison, Mills,
Monona, Montgomery, Page, Pottawattamie, and Shelby. In
Nebraska, Burt, Butler, Cass, Dodge, Douglas, gage, Jefferson,
Johnson, Lancaster, Nemaha, Otoe, Pawnee, Richardson, Saline,
Sarpy, Saunders, Seward, and Washington.

* From 10 PM CDT this evening through Monday morning

* a line of thunderstorms is expected to move through the area
tonight, bringing high rain rates and 1 to 3 inches of rain.
Locally higher rainfall totals possible.

* Low-lying and flood-prone areas will be most susceptible to
the dangers of flash flooding. Areas near rivers, creeks, and
streams could become flooded during and immediately after
heavy rainfall.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

* Until further notice.
* At 10:00 am Sunday the stage was 27.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 29.0 feet.
* Forecast... the river will rise to near 28.0 feet Tuesday evening.
