Special Statement
Issued: 2:45 AM MDT Jun. 21, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Hot temperatures to return Friday through Sunday...

A strengthening upper ridge and drier airmass will result in
strong heating across the area Friday through Sunday. Temperatures
are expected to reach above 105 degrees in many locations, with
temperatures near 110 degrees along the Pecos River and Rio
Grande. Cooler temperatures are anticipated next week.

If you plan to be outside in the heat, take plenty of breaks,
especially during the hottest parts of the day. Wear light-
colored and loose-fitting clothing. Drink plenty of water, even
if you do not feel thirsty. Avoid alcoholic or caffeinated
beverages. Think about others! Never leave children in a car on
even a moderately warm day as conditions in the car can quickly
heat to unhealthy levels. Check on the elderly or other people at
risk.
