Winter Weather Advisory
Issued: 2:35 PM MDT Apr. 19, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory in effect from midnight tonight to
6 am MDT Saturday...

* what... snow expected. Total snow accumulations of up to 4 to 6
inches at elevations near and above 9000 feet, with localized
amounts up to 8 inches, are expected. Strong winds will create
areas of reduced visibilities in blowing snow.

* Where... San Juan Mountains, northern Sangre de Cristos above
9500 feet including Red River and southern Sangre de Cristos
above 9500 feet.

* When... from midnight tonight to 6 am MDT Saturday.

* Additional details... plan on slippery Road conditions over
mountain passes. Visibilities may be sudden reduced in blowing
snow. Damage to trees and power lines is likely.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Weather Advisory for snow means periods of snow will
cause primarily travel difficulties. Expect snow covered roads
and limited visibilities, and use caution while driving. The
latest Road conditions for the state you are calling from can be
obtained by calling 5 1 1.





Wind Advisory
Issued: 2:50 PM MDT Apr. 19, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Wind Advisory remains in effect until midnight MDT tonight...

* location... northern and southern Sangre de Cristo and San Juan
Mountains.

* Winds... south to southeast 25 to 35 mph with gusts up to 50
mph.

* Timing... winds will continue to increase this afternoon and
persist through midnight. Accumulating snow is then expected to
develop over the high terrain tonight while winds continue to
impact the area.

* Visibility... locally reduced in areas of blowing dust.

* Local impacts... strong cross winds will create difficult
travel on east to west oriented roadways.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Motorists should exercise caution while travelling. Sudden gusts
of wind may cause you to lose control of your vehicle. Extra
attention should be given to cross winds.
