Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 1:19 PM MDT Jul. 15, 2018 – National Weather Service

The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for...
southeastern Lincoln County in central New Mexico...
west central Chaves County in southeastern New Mexico...

* until 315 PM MDT.

* At 119 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Arroyo and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. Up to one inch of rain has already fallen with
more rain expected through 315 PM MDT.

* Flooding will remain over mainly rural areas of southeastern
Lincoln and west central Chaves counties.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

* At 1230 PM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause Arroyo and small stream flooding in
the advisory area. An inch or more of rain has already fallen with
another inch possible through 230 PM.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Lincoln, Ruidoso, Ruidoso Downs, Fort Stanton, Glencoe and Lincoln
state Monument.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
