Flood Warning
Issued: 10:15 AM CDT May. 26, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Flood Warning extended until further notice...

the Flood Warning continues for
the North Fork Red River near Headrick.

* Until further notice... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 10:00 am Sunday the stage was 15.7 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

* Forecast... the North Fork Red River will continue rising and crest
near 18.9 feet early Monday afternoon.

* Impact... at 19.0 feet... flooding to depths of 5 feet or isolation
of agricultural lands and rural roads occurs in Kiowa... Jackson...
and Tillman counties. Upstream points in Kiowa County may see
flooding several hours before the crest reaches the Headrick area.
The flood crest reaches downstream points near Tipton much later.
Flood depths approach 5 feet over some areas along the river.

The Flood Watch for flash flooding... flooding of creeks and
rivers... and flooding of low lying areas is now in effect for

* portions of Oklahoma and northern Texas, including the
following areas, in Oklahoma, Caddo, Canadian, Greer, Harmon,
Jackson, Kiowa, Lincoln, Logan, Oklahoma, and Payne. In
northern Texas, Hardeman.

* Through early Monday morning.

* Additional heavy rainfall associated with strong and severe
thunderstorms could lead to dangerous and potentially life
threatening conditions in some areas.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means there is a potential for flooding based on
current forecasts.

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible
flood warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be
prepared to take action should flooding develop.
