... Flood Watch remains in effect from 6 PM MDT /7 PM CDT/ this
evening through Tuesday afternoon...

The Flood Watch continues for

* most of western South Dakota, except the far northwest.

* From 6 PM MDT /7 PM CDT/ this evening through Tuesday afternoon

* moderate to locally heavy precipitation will develop tonight
and continue through Tuesday, with total rainfall amounts of 1
to 2 inches expected. Locally higher amounts are possible.
Grounds are already saturated from recent precipitation, with
additional precipitation quickly running into rivers and
streams.

* Many rivers and streams are running near bankfull with some
areas of minor flooding. Additional rainfall will result in
rapid rises on rivers and streams.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flood Watch means that flooding is possible along rivers and
creeks. If you are in the watch area, take time to move
livestock, equipment, and other property from low lying areas
before flooding occurs. Monitor NOAA Weather Radio and local
media for updated forecasts and be ready to quickly move to
higher ground if rising water levels are observed or a warning is
issued.
