Watches & Warnings

Flash Flood Watch, Areal Flood Advisory
Issued: 4:12 PM CDT Jun. 21, 2018 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through late tonight...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* a portion of deep south Texas, including the following areas,
Brooks, coastal Cameron, coastal Kenedy, coastal Willacy,
inland Cameron, inland Kenedy, inland Willacy, Jim Hogg,
northern Hidalgo, southern Hidalgo, Starr, and Zapata.

* Through late tonight

* areas of moderate to heavy rainfall producing showers and
thunderstorms will continue across the region throughout this
evening and possibly into tonight. Any additional rainfall that
falls over already saturated or flooded locations will quickly
worsen any flooding situations.

* Heavy rainfall in a short period of time will cause small
streams and arroyos to fill quickly to bankfull, possibly
resulting in overflowing. Low-lying and poorly-draining areas
as well as urban locations could see widespread street
flooding with water depth of several feet. Locations that have
seen the heaviest rainfall could quickly see a return to life-
threatening flooding.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.

239 PM CDT Thu Jun 21 2018

The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a

* flood advisory for...
southwestern Kenedy County in deep south Texas...
Willacy County in deep south Texas...

* until 445 PM CDT.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Raymondville, Lyford, Armstrong, San Perlita, Norias, Reber
Memorial Library, Porfirio, U S 77 border patrol station,

US Highway 77 between mile markers 728 and 762.
