... Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until midnight MDT
Friday night...

* timing... snow will continue for the rest of this afternoon,
becoming heavy at times. The snow will continue through Friday
evening.

* Snow accumulation... 12 to 18 inches.

* Main impact... slushy to snow packed roads will make travel
difficult on Powder River and Granite passes.

* Other impacts... heavy snow will reduce visibility below a
quarter mile at times.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, and or
blowing snow are expected or occurring. This could make travel
very hazardous or impossible. If you must travel keep some food,
water, and an extra flashlight in your vehicle in case of an

Below are the final rain and snowfall amounts across western and
central Wyoming for this past Spring storm. Reports are from Monday
evening through yesterday April 25th. The Bighorn Mountains were
the big winners for snow seeing up to 18 inches of new snowfall.

Observations are collected from a variety of sources with varying
equipment and exposures. Not all data listed are considered
official. Snotels (snow telemetry) are remote sensing sites in High
