Hummer cam current view -

Not much to say at the moment, so mostly a few photos from the 'garden' and surrounds.

Weather has really settled down, looks like low - mid 70s for the next week. Some early and late low clouds, mostly sunny middays. Have to enjoy this while it lasts!

Garden is mostly tomatoes this year, a couple Romas, several SunGolds, Yellow Stuffer, and some basil - for good measure :) Have picked one SunGold already - weeks away from serious picking.

Hiding back a bit, an almost ripe SunGold.

Some table grapes and their protection system -

Super hard to find hybrid tomato, now where is that basil?

A couple hummers going old school on the blooms on the desert willow (Chilopsis linearis)

Dinner for Hummers :)

Lesser Finch asking for privacy while catching a bath?

This is a good weekend to put out the flag.

Mrs WTS coming in for landing on zipline!

A view of elephant encloses from the Balloon ride, they don't look so big from up there :)

Looking back to the zipline area, launch is from up in the hills.

April - from Latin Aprilis, possibly from aperire 'to open' alluding to buds and blossoms of northern hemisphere spring. Or maybe Roman/Etruscan Aphros or Apru. International Trombone Week is in April. Ah, sp is better at this than I.

Speaking of sp, hope the pain is fading - maybe it is related to hearing about a nincompoop elected official from Alaska!

Happy April Fool's Day!!! I've never been good at coming up with pranks, alas. Google's pr...

March 13 11 AM ish local
An hour after a couple of 4.6-4.7 quakes rattled the area. They were centered around Anza, near Borrego. This morning at work, I am about 75 miles away. There was a gentle bump and a bit of a rattle. Small quakes. It has been a while since we have felt any shaking.

Older notes - Spring, for the northern hemisphere, is just 3 weeks away - though today in San Diego county was much more like summer. Plenty of 80s around with lot...

Feb 17, Sunday afternoon

It has been an excellent weekend, sunny both days - 82 Saturday almost 75 Sunday. A couple of record highs in the county, and a record high low. But now a Special Weather Statement for a cold system from Gulf of Alaska to reach us Tuesday-Thursday. A snippet from the statement - "* Thunderstorms... isolated thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and
night... with small hail or graupel... gusty winds... and brief heavy
precipita...
