Dale Hollow Lake - TN

Dry, dry, dry

Just returned from a trip to New England to find out it did not rain any at my station here in Celina during our six days away.

I see some grass beginning to die out, which is normally an August or September phenomenon, if it happens at all.

I have had 2.99 inches of precip in May, with almost exactly half of that coming in a single 24-hour period. The NWS is showing an inch less than that (1.93), with the 30-year average being 5.54 inches.

Here's hoping this next rain system will give us some relief.
