Flash Flood Watch
Issued: 11:44 AM EDT Jun. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Flash Flood Watch in effect until 11 PM EDT this evening...

The National Weather Service in Burlington has issued a

* Flash Flood Watch for all of northern New York, and all of
central and northern Vermont.

* Until 11 PM EDT this evening.

* Moderate to locally heavy rainfall with embedded thunderstorms
will have the potential to produce 1 to 3 inches of additional
rainfall through this evening. The combination of rain this
morning and periods of heavy rain this afternoon will be capable
of producing localized flash flooding. In addition, the heavy
rainfall will lead to sharp rises on many small streams and
areas of poor drainage.

* Those with interests in low-lying or flood prone areas should
continue to monitor the latest forecasts and conditions.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
