... Lakeshore Flood Watch in effect from Wednesday evening through
Thursday afternoon...

The National Weather Service in Buffalo has issued a Lakeshore
Flood Watch, which is in effect from Wednesday evening through
Thursday afternoon.

* Locations... Niagara, Orleans, and Monroe counties.

* Lake Shore flooding... the combination of very High Lake levels
and a prolonged period of moderate to strong northwest winds
will result in Lakeshore flooding potential along the South
Shore of of Lake Ontario.

* Timing... from Wednesday evening through Thursday afternoon.

* Impacts... Lakeshore flooding impacts may increase, especially in
bays, inlets, and other low lying areas along the shoreline.
Wave action may produce an increase in shoreline erosion.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Lakeshore Flood Watch means that conditions favorable for
Lakeshore flooding are expected to develop. Residents on or near
the shore should take action to protect property... and listen for
later statements or warnings.
