Issued: 4:07 PM CDT Sep. 19, 2019 – National Weather Service

... A Flood Warning remains in effect until 1130 PM CDT Thursday for
Grant County...

At 404 PM CDT, local law enforcement reported flooding across the
warned area. Several roads were closed in the Beetown, Potosi and
Rockville area. The Platte River was experiencing major flooding.
Expect moderate to major flooding along the Grant river from Beetown
downstream through Burton.

Follow instructions from local authorities. Don't drive around
barricades and never attempt to drive through flood waters.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Platteville, Lancaster, Fennimore, Cuba City, Hazel Green,
Dickeyville, Cassville, Bloomington, Preston, Georgetown, Beetown,
Arthur, Montfort, Potosi, Livingston, Mount Ida, Ellenboro, Glen
Haven, Bagley and Tennyson.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Stay away or be swept away. River banks and culverts can become
unstable and unsafe.
