Issued: 1:49 AM CDT Sep. 15, 2019 – National Weather Service

... The Flash Flood Warning remains in effect until 515 am CDT for
central Clayton... Grant and southern Crawford counties...

At 145 am CDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing heavy
rain across the warned area. Radar estimates that up to two inches
of rain have already fallen across a portion of the warned area,
with up to another inch possible before rain comes to an end. Flash
flooding is expected to begin shortly.

Excessive rainfall over the warned area will cause mud slides near
steep terrain. The mud slide can consist of rock, mud, vegetation and
other loose materials.

Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Platteville, Prairie Du Chien, Lancaster, Guttenberg, Boscobel,
Fennimore, Cuba City, Monona, Muscoda, Hazel Green, Dickeyville,
Cassville, McGregor, Garnavillo, Bloomington, Marquette, Farmersburg,
Preston, Bridgeport and Georgetown.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
