the Flood Warning continues for
the Mississippi River at Cape Girardeau
* at 10:30 am Tuesday the stage was 40.2 feet.
* Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will slowly fall until Thursday before rising again
to near 45.0 feet by Tuesday, may 28.
* Impact... at 43.0 feet... the flood gate on north Main Street closes.

... Lake Wind Advisory remains in effect until 9 PM CDT this
evening...

* timing... 3 PM CDT to 9 PM CDT.

* Winds... sustained 15 to 20 mph with occasional gusts of 25 to
30 mph, locally stronger along and west of the Mississippi
River.

* Impacts... small water craft may encounter choppy waters. Winds
from approaching thunderstorms over southeast Missouri may
increase winds on waterways during the late afternoon.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A lake Wind Advisory indicates that winds will cause rough chop
on area lakes. Small boats will be especially prone to capsizing.
