The Flood Warning continues for
the Missouri River at Napoleon.
* Until further notice.
* At 10:00 am Monday the stage was 21.3 feet.
* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 21.8 feet by
early Friday afternoon then begin falling.
* At 17.0 feet... low-lying areas unprotected by levees begin to
flood.

the Missouri River at Waverly.
* Until further notice.
* At 10:30 am Monday the stage was 24.5 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 24.9 feet by
Friday morning.
* At 23.5 feet... rural areas along the river which are not protected
by levees flood.

Excessive Heat Watch
Issued: 3:52 PM CDT Jul. 15, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Excessive heat watch in effect from Wednesday afternoon
through Saturday evening...

The National Weather Service in Kansas City/Pleasant Hill has
issued an excessive heat watch, which is in effect from Wednesday
afternoon through Saturday evening.

* Temperature... high temperatures will be in the mid to upper 90s
with night time lows in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Heat
index values will Max out in 105 to 110 degree range each day.

* Impacts... this will be the first prolonged period of heat this
season and as such sensitive people may not have acclimated to
the heat. Heat illnesses will be possible for those spending
prolonged time outside or time indoors in non-air conditioned
locations. The prolonged heat could be especially dangerous for
those most susceptible including, Young children and the
elderly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat watch means that a prolonged period of hot
temperatures is expected. The combination of hot temperatures and
high humidity will combine to create a dangerous situation in
which heat illnesses are possible. Drink plenty of fluids, stay
in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on
relatives and neighbors.
