Issued: 6:59 PM CDT Jul. 20, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Excessive heat warning remains in effect until 7 PM CDT
Sunday...

* heat index values... from 105 to 110 degrees due to temperatures
in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees and high relative
humidity values are expected again on Sunday afternoon and early
evening.

* Timing... from this evening and continuing through early Sunday
evening.

* Impacts... heat-related illnesses are possible for those
spending a prolonged amount of time outdoors or those who are
more susceptible to heat, such as Young children and elderly.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat warning means that a prolonged period of
dangerously hot temperatures will occur. The combination of heat
and humidity will create a dangerous situation where heat
illnesses are likely. Drink plenty of fluids and stay in an air
conditioned room. Stay out of the sun and check up on relatives
and neighbors. Watch your pets! Temperatures within vehicles can
become lethal in only a few minutes. Never leave children or pets
in vehicles for any duration! Remember to beat the heat, check
the backseat and to "look before you lock".
