The National Weather Service in Norman has issued a

* Flood Warning for...
southern Oklahoma County in central Oklahoma...
southeastern Canadian County in central Oklahoma...

* until 900 PM CDT.

* Runoff, from thunderstorms Monday and early Tuesday morning, will
result in continued flooded streams and creeks across parts of
central and north central Oklahoma. Some roads will remain
closed, especially those that run close to our pass over streams
and creeks.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Oklahoma City, Midwest City, del City, Mustang, Choctaw, Harrah,
Spencer, Jones, Nicoma Park, Luther, Valley Brook, Tinker Air Force
Base, Newalla, Forest Park, Lake Aluma and Smith Village.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Move to higher ground now. Turn around, don't drown.

The Flood Warning continues for
the north Canadian river near Harrah.

* Until late Wednesday night... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 2:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 17.9 feet.

* Moderate flooding is occurring and major flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

* Forecast... the north Canadian river will continue rising and crest
near 18.2 feet Tuesday evening. The north Canadian river will fall
below flood stage Wednesday evening.

* Impact... at 18.0 feet... significant flooding affects agricultural
areas and rural roads in eastern Oklahoma County... the southwest
corner of Lincoln County... and northwestern Pottawatomie County.

The Flood Warning continues for
the north Canadian river at Oklahoma City at Britton Road

* until this evening... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 2:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 20.6 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring.

* Flood stage is 17.0 feet.

* Forecast... the north Canadian river is near crest and will begin
falling Tuesday evening. The north Canadian river will fall below
flood stage late Tuesday afternoon.

* Impact... at 21.0 feet... croplands... pastures... and rural roads
east of Oklahoma City near the towns of Spencer and Jones are
inundated by significant overflow depths. Spencer is not affected
by floodwaters... while shallow flooding may reach outskirts of
Jones.

The Flood Warning continues for
the north Canadian river at Oklahoma City at NW 10th street.

* From Wednesday evening to late Wednesday night... or until the
warning is cancelled.

* At 2:00 PM Tuesday the stage was 18.3 feet.

* Minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 24.0 feet.

* Forecast... the north Canadian river is forecast to crest near 24.0
feet Wednesday evening.

* Impact... at 24.0 feet... shallow flooding occurs along the north
Canadian river downstream of Lake Overholser dam from near 10th
street to near MacArthur Boulevard in western Oklahoma County.

The Flood Warning continues for
the north Canadian river near Yukon.

* Until Wednesday evening... or until the warning is cancelled.

* At 2:30 PM Tuesday the stage was 14.6 feet.

* Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* Flood stage is 14.0 feet.

* Forecast... the north Canadian river will continue rising and crest
near 15.0 feet early Wednesday morning. The north Canadian river
will fall below flood stage early Wednesday afternoon.

* Impact... at 15.0 feet... flooding or isolation of suburban home
sites and rural areas along the north Canadian River Valley
occurs... from near Banner Road to the headwaters of Lake
Overholser. The Garth Brooks Avenue crossing northwest of town is
closed by floodwaters. Low-lying rural roads are closed by flood
depths near 3 feet with dangerously swift currents.

* Runoff, from thunderstorms Monday and early Tuesday morning, will
result in many flooded streams and creeks across parts of central
and north central Oklahoma. Some roads will remain closed,
especially those that run close to our pass over streams and
creeks.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
northwestern Oklahoma City, Edmond, Enid, Stillwater, Ponca City,
El Reno, Guthrie, Cushing, Blackwell, Perry, Kingfisher, Tonkawa,
Medford, Yukon, Bethany, Warr Acres, the Village, Piedmont, Nichols
Hills and Perkins.
