Watches & Warnings

Excessive Heat Watch
Issued: 2:16 AM PDT Aug. 17, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Excessive heat watch in effect from Tuesday morning through
Thursday evening...

The National Weather Service in San Diego has issued an excessive
heat watch... which is in effect from Tuesday morning through
Thursday evening.

* Temperature... highs 112 to 118, hottest on Wednesday.

* Impacts... overexposure to the heat can cause heat cramps and
heat exhaustion to develop and, without intervention, can lead
to heat stroke. Do not leave children or pets in parked
vehicles.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

An excessive heat watch means that a prolonged period of hot
temperatures is expected. Hot temperatures will create a
dangerous situation in which heat illnesses are possible. Drink
plenty of fluids... stay in an air-conditioned room... stay out of
the sun... and check up on relatives and neighbors.
