* flood advisory for...
northern Chickasaw County in northeastern Mississippi...
southeastern Pontotoc County in northeastern Mississippi...
southern Lee County in northeastern Mississippi...
northwestern Monroe County in northeastern Mississippi...

* until 600 am CDT.

* At 401 am CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to training
showers and thunderstorms. Rainfall rates may exceed 2 to 3 inches
per hour with total rainfall amounts near 2 inches. This will
cause minor flooding in the advisory area.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Tupelo, Verona, Okolona, Tombigbee State Park, Shannon,
Plantersville, Troy, Furrs, Houlka, Nettleton, new Houlka, Algoma,
Chiwapa, Mooreville, Eggville, Thelma, Leotis, Flowerdale, Old
Union and Wallfield.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
