The National Weather Service in Hastings has issued a

* flood advisory for...
southeastern Dawson County in south central Nebraska...

* until 815 PM CDT Tuesday.

* At 810 PM CDT, gauges along the Buffalo and Spring creeks near
Overton were showing elevated water levels. This is a result of
runoff from heavy of rain that fell in the area Sunday morning.

* As of 745 PM Monday, the Buffalo Creek was at 11 feet, which is
minor flood stage. Minor flooding of rural roads is expected.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Overton.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
