Watches & Warnings

Fire Weather Warning
Issued: 3:11 AM PDT Jul. 23, 2019 – National Weather Service

... Red flag warning in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 5 am
PDT Wednesday for abundant lightning followed by gusty winds for
fire weather zones 640, 641, and 675...

The National Weather Service in Pendleton has issued a red flag
warning, which is in effect from 2 PM this afternoon to 5 am PDT
Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch is no longer in effect.

* Affected area... in orz640... fire weather zone 640. In orz641...
fire weather zone 641. In waz641... fire weather zone 641. In
waz675... fire weather zone 675.

* Timing... peak lightning activity will be late afternoon through
the evening. Strongest winds will be evening and overnight.

* Lightning activity... starting at 2 late afternoon then rising to
3 during the evening.

* Precipitation... precipitation will be light and storms will
move fast so the chance of wetting rain is low.

* Impacts... any fires that develop will spread rapidly as breezy
to windy conditions are likely by evening.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A red flag warning means that critical fire weather conditions
are either occurring now... .or will shortly. A combination of
strong winds... low relative humidity... and warm temperatures can
contribute to extreme fire behavior.
