... A Severe Thunderstorm Warning remains in effect until 545 PM CDT
for southwestern Kenedy and northwestern Willacy counties...

At 515 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Rudolph, or 16
miles north of Raymondville, moving south at 15 mph.

Hazard... 70 mph wind gusts and half dollar size hail.

Source... radar indicated.

Impact... hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
         tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to Mobile homes,
         roofs, and outbuildings.

Locations impacted include...
Norias, Yturria and Rudolph.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Prepare immediately for large hail and damaging winds. People outside
should move to a shelter, inside a strong building and away from
windows.

To report severe weather contact your nearest law enforcement agency.
They will send your report to the National Weather Service office in
Brownsville.

Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading
killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to
be struck by lightning.

Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.

The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a

* Arroyo and small stream flood advisory for poor drainage areas
for...
southwestern Kenedy County in deep south Texas...

* until 645 PM CDT.

* At 444 PM CDT, National Weather Service Doppler radar indicated
heavy rain due to thunderstorms over southwestern Kenedy County.
This will cause Arroyo and small stream flooding. Overflowing poor
drainage areas will result in minor flooding in the advisory area.
From two to three inches of rain have already fallen.

* Some locations that will experience flooding include...
Armstrong, Norias, U S 77 border patrol station, Rudolph and
Armstrong Ranch Airport.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small
creeks and streams, country roads, farmland, and other low lying
spots.
