The Flood Warning continues for
the Neosho river near Neosho Rapids.
* Until further notice.
* At 8:30 am Saturday the stage was 25.8 feet.
* Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 26.7 feet by
early Sunday morning then begin falling.
* Impact... at 26.0 feet... water covers large areas over both banks.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Neosho river near Emporia 3nw.
* From late tonight to Sunday evening.
* At 7:00 am Saturday the stage was 12.6 feet.
* Flood stage is 19.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... rise above flood stage by early Sunday morning and
continue to rise to near 19.1 feet by Sunday morning.The river will
fall below flood stage by Sunday morning.
* Impact... at 19.5 feet... prairie street, north of the bridge, floods.

the Cottonwood River near Emporia.
* Until late Tuesday night.
* At 8:30 am Saturday the stage was 25.1 feet.
* Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
* Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 25.4 feet by this
evening. The river will fall below flood stage late Tuesday
morning.
* Impact... at 25.5 feet... Highway k 99 on the North Bank begins to
flood.

The Flood Warning continues for
the Cottonwood River near Plymouth.
* Until Monday morning.
* At 8:00 am Saturday the stage was 33.9 feet.
* Flood stage is 32.0 feet.
* Minor flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast.
* Forecast... the river will continue rising to near 34.2 feet by this
evening. The river will fall below flood stage Sunday evening.
* Impact... at 34.0 feet... Road a becomes completely inundated near the
river gage site, south of Hwy 50. Expect flooding of crops and
fields.

... Flash Flood Watch now in effect through Sunday morning...

The Flash Flood Watch is now in effect for

* portions of central Kansas, east central Kansas, north central
Kansas, and northeast Kansas, including the following areas,
in central Kansas, Dickinson. In east central Kansas,
Anderson, Coffey, Douglas, Franklin, Geary, Lyon, Morris,
Osage, Shawnee, and Wabaunsee. In north central Kansas, Clay,
cloud, Ottawa, Republic, and Washington. In northeast Kansas,
Brown, Jackson, Jefferson, Marshall, Nemaha, Pottawatomie, and
Riley.

* Through Sunday morning

* scattered to numerous strong thunderstorms are expected later
this afternoon and through tonight. These storms may produce
very heavy rainfall and flash flooding in a short amount of
time, over an area that is already saturated from rainfall
earlier this week.

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
