... Flash Flood Watch remains in effect from this evening through
Tuesday evening...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* portions of Kansas and Missouri, including the following
areas, in Kansas, Atchison KS, Doniphan, Johnson KS,
Leavenworth, Linn KS, Miami, and Wyandotte. In Missouri,
Andrew, Atchison MO, Buchanan, Caldwell, Carroll, Cass, Clay,
Clinton, Daviess, De Kalb, Gentry, Grundy, Harrison, Holt,
Jackson, Lafayette, Livingston, Mercer, Nodaway, Platte,
Putnam, ray, Sullivan, and Worth.

* From this evening through Tuesday evening

* several rounds of thunderstorms with heavy rainfall are
expected this evening through Tuesday afternoon. Total
rainfall amounts of one to three inches will be possible
during this period. This rainfall will fall on already
saturated soils, increasing the potential for flash flooding.

* Low-lying and flood-prone areas will be most susceptible to
the dangers of flash flooding. Areas near rivers, creeks, and
streams will likely become flooded during and immediately
after heavy rainfall.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a very dangerous situation.

You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action
should flash flood warnings be issued.
