Thanks, Peg and Mark! I guess I'm just used to
the bullsnakes. They look a LOT like
rattlesnakes except they don't have the
rattle. That's why I got so close..I wanted to
check out the end of their tails to make sure.

I think Bull Snakes are beautiful too, Kat. The ones around our farm are quite friendly and tame. I've even had one "walk" with me from tree to tree, as I moved the garden hose. He would take a sip each time we stopped to water and then on we'd go to the next tree. The farm cats distinguish between them and Prarie Rattlers and only kill the latter.

This is a FANTASTIC capture! Beautiful clarity, color and detail! 10+++++

I know a lot of people are. Now, I feel terrified
when I encounter a rattlesnake..that's a
different story, but the Bull Snake and other
harmless snakes are just so cool. I love to
watch them move. I just wish I could be that
flexible! LOL
