This is the biggest of the young owls, and he landed in the same spot "Cranky" was sitting, looking as if he would rather still be sleeping. I love the beautiful patterns of their feathers. Each owl is a work of art, in my eyes.

We can hear owls at night but we almost never see them and certainly not this close. Beautiful picture

YOU ARE SOOO RIGHT KAT!!!! I am surprised that you see these during the day!!! We heard some last week after sundown,,don't know if it was an adult with young,but they were sure making a raucus!!! they sound like baboons or chimps or something,,other than what you think and Owl would sound like,,they are the Barred Owl..I believe..or maybe the Hoot owls,,anyway,,,keep up the great work,,I hope they stick around,,they seem to favor your habitat,that is just awesome!!!Thank you for sharing your angels!!!:))-Mindi
