Northwest wind 10 to 20 knots increasing to 20 to 25 knots late. Numerous snow showers. Freezing spray late. Waves building to 4 to 7 feet occasionally to 9 feet.
Northwest wind 15 to 25 knots. Snow showers in the morning, then a chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Freezing spray through the day. Waves building to 6 to 9 feet occasionally to 11 feet, then subsiding to 4 to 7 feet occasionally to 9 feet.

The last nearshore forecast issuance for the Lake Superior boating season will be issued on Thursday, January 16, 2020. The nearshore forecast will again be issued a week before the Soo locks open, likely around April 1, 2020.
