North wind 10 to 15 knots diminishing to less than 10 knots. Cloudy. A slight chance of snow late in the morning, then a chance of snow through early afternoon. Snow likely by mid afternoon. Waves 2 to 4 feet subsiding to 1 to 2 feet.
Tonight
Northwest wind 10 to 20 knots increasing to 20 to 25 knots late. Numerous snow showers. Freezing spray late. Waves building to 4 to 7 feet occasionally to 9 feet.
Thursday
Northwest wind 15 to 25 knots. Snow showers in the morning, then a chance of snow showers in the afternoon. Freezing spray through the day. Waves building to 6 to 9 feet occasionally to 11 feet, then subsiding to 4 to 7 feet occasionally to 9 feet.
Thursday Night
Northwest wind 5 to 15 knots in the evening becoming variable. Mostly cloudy. Freezing spray in the evening. A chance of snow showers in the evening, then a slight chance of snow showers after midnight. Waves subsiding to 1 to 2 feet. The last nearshore forecast issuance for the Lake Superior boating season will be issued on Thursday, January 16, 2020. The nearshore forecast will again be issued a week before the Soo locks open, likely around April 1, 2020.

* Impacts... strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could
capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility.

Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions.
Remain in port, seek safe Harbor, alter course, and/or secure the
vessel for severe conditions.
