Watches & Warnings

High Wind Advisory
Issued: 4:19 AM MST Jan. 17, 2020 – National Weather Service

... High Wind Warning remains in effect from 1 PM this afternoon
to 2 am MST Saturday...

* what... northwest winds 30 to 40 mph with gusts up to 60 mph
expected.

* Where... east central and northeast Colorado.

* When... from 1 PM Friday to 2 am MST Saturday.

* Impacts... travel will be difficult for high profile vehicles.
Areas of blowing dust will also reduce visibilities. Tree
limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result.
Strong winds will blow around unsecured objects.

Precautionary/preparedness actions...

Hazardous driving conditions due to powerful cross winds will
pose a serious risk for drivers. Visibilities may be suddenly
reduced to near zero when encountering blowing dust, so slow down
when approaching a plume of blowing dust and be prepared to stop.
Strong winds may lead to property damage. Loose outdoor items
should be brought inside or secured properly.
