Issued: 4:25 AM MST Jan. 17, 2020 – National Weather Service

... Winter Weather Advisory remains in effect until 5 PM MST this
afternoon...

* what... snow and blowing snow expected. Total snow
accumulations of 3 to 6 inches, except 5 to 10 inches north of
Rabbit Ears Pass. Winds gusting as high as 70 mph.

* Where... Rabbit Ears Pass, Rocky Mountain National Park and the
Medicine Bow range and the mountains of Summit County, and the
Indian Peaks.

* When... from 6 am to 5 PM MST Friday. Snow will be moderate to
heavy in the late morning and early afternoon, with gusts to 30
to 50 mph. Wind speeds will increase during the afternoon with
gusts to up 70 mph.

* Impacts... plan on slippery Road conditions. Widespread blowing
snow will significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous
conditions will impact the evening commute. Very strong winds
could cause tree damage. The cold wind chills as low as 20
below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as
30 minutes.
